All this broohaha over the ‘draw Muhammad (peace be upon him) day’, where people are rioting in Pakistan and all that kind of stuff, just makes me so sad.
Yes the cartoons are hurtful. Yes, the very thought of them shocks me to my core.
That’s exactly what they’re trying to do.
There’s no doubt that much of this is fueled by bigotry and xenophobia.
This is an outlet for people who probably have more than a latent sense of bigotry in their core, to attack Muslims where it hurts the most, our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him).
Yes they are provocative. And more than a pox on the woman who started it all!
But we Muslims have to be calm in the face of provocation.
Don’t we believe that all these things will be turned over to God in the end to be judged?
Shouldn’t we be patient and persevere through these kinds of trials?
It’s only going to get worse.
The Prophet’s (peace be upon him) contemporaries said even worse things abou thim. They physically attacked him. When he was praying at the Kaaba, the sacred house of God, they threw filth at him, and he did not retaliate.
If he could show patience through all those attacks, why shouldn’t we be following his example?
These are distractions.
They lure us away from the good works we can do.
Do not give them attention.
Carry on, carrying on, and carry on invoking the peace and blessings on that noble, precious, mercy to mankind, that was our beloved messenger of God, Muhammad, may God’s peace and blessings shower down upon him and his progeny.
He was far above the hurtful vile things they attribute to him. If only they knew.

29|May|2010 1Thank you, my brothers and I had the same conversation a few days ago. They want us to get mad, in fact they want us to get so mad that we become what they already think we are! We need to show them otherwise, we need to be patient and believe that justice comes to all.
