Today I was expecting to hear about one of the awards that Wanting Mor was up for, specifically the IODE award, but instead I got some other good news.

The Italian version of Wanting Mor, has just gone into its second printing, after being out less than six months!

So, let’s see, that means this little book of mine went into its second printing in Canada after less than a year, went into a second printing in Australia and New Zealand before it was officially ‘released’, and now has gone into a second printing in Italy after only a few months!!!

Wow!

And now the Italian publisher wants to invite me to a conference on young adult authors in Italy!

Wow!

I don’t know if you would consider the emotion I’m feeling ‘happy’.

Happy is for seeing the sun shine when you want it to, or getting to the checkout register and finding no line, or catching the bus without having to wait.

It’s not for something as momentous as this.

Hmm. I’m not sure if this is exactly momentous, but it feels momentous to me.

Like a sort of turning point.

At least I hope so, but I won’t let myself dwell on it.

I’ll just enjoy the fact that people are liking my story, at least enough to buy it.

It’s actually kind of humbling.
